The operation covered most of the Bay Area, with representatives from the Oakland PD, the Alameda County Sheriff's Department, the Humane Society, and others from San Francisco, Marin, and some other places that I'd never even heard of. The vans lurking outside the window turned out to be trucks from the Humane Society for hauling in the dogs when they found them.

So, without much fanfare, they gave us a receipt for the confiscated items, and told us we were free to go about our business. (Thanks, guys.) And they all drove off to go do another bust somewhere else.
