The Hot Buttered Cat Phenomenon During a leisurely breakfast the other day, Herb accidently knocked a piece of toast off the table which led to the discovery of something incredible. The toast, of course, landed with the butter-side down, a widely accepted universal constant (often regarded as a Murphy's law correlary). Herb was also familiar with the law that states A Cat Will Always Land On Its Feet. This got Herb to thinkin', and thinkin' to drinkin', and drinkin' the Herb Urban Bourbon, no less. After a few shots, he made another slice of toast, slathered it with butter and grabbed his cat Jim. Using a shoelace, Herb tied the toast butter-side-up to the cat and tossed the old tabby out the window. In what may be a discovery bigger than cold fusion, the two laws confounded one another in mid air and the cat was observed to hover.
